Colleen West, Creative Director

Colleen, at age 5, began tap dance lessons at Judy Kugler’s Dance Studio in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Colleen continued her dance training at Brigham Young University, receiving a B.A. and M.A. in professional dance. Currently, as a full-time faculty member in the dance department at B.Y.U., in addition to teaching and other responsibilities, Colleen coordinates the tap dance program, which offers 12 sections. She also has created many tap dance choreographies for various university performances, and is the director of B.Y.U.’s Rhythm Tap Workshop.

In the event of a fire, Colleen tells her students that she would grab her tap shoes as one of the items to save.
